How your passport works
Everything you need to make your garment yours, and to keep its story.
1. Open it
Hold the top of your phone to the brand label for a moment. The secure NFC tag identifies your garment and opens its passport in your browser. There is no app and no account.
2. Make it yours
Your piece arrives with its Record of Ownership, a card with a private code. Enter the code once and the garment becomes yours. The code can only be used once.
A few short questions follow. Everything is optional.
3. Choose how you appear
Privately, by your initials, or by name. Your passport is private by default, unless you choose otherwise. You can change it at any time.
You can keep it anonymous. Without your details we can’t help if the card is lost, or when you pass the garment on.
4. Your passport remembers you
After you claim your garment, your passport remembers that it is yours, so everything simply works when you open it.
On a new phone, we send a link to the email you gave us. If you didn’t give one, write to us.
5. Keep your moments
Add a moment whenever you like: a title, a date, a few words. Your moments are protected by a short passcode that only you know. They are never shown to anyone else who holds the garment.
Forgot your passcode? We send a reset link to your email, or you can write to us.
6. When it goes to the cleaner
Press Clean and choose for how long: three days, a week, two weeks, or a date of your own. Until then, anyone who holds the garment sees only its care instructions. When the time is up, the passport returns to normal by itself, and the care is recorded in its life.
Its care instructions can be read in English, French, Spanish or Chinese.
7. Passing it on
If you give, leave or sell your garment, start the handover from its passport. The next owner receives an email to make it theirs.
Before you pass it on, keep a copy of your moments: we can send it to your email. You’ll receive a confirmation once it’s on its way. After the handover, nothing about you stays with the garment. Its history does.
8. If the card is lost
Write to us at info@thephysalias.com with your order number or the email you used. If you chose to stay anonymous, we may not be able to help.
What others can see
Anyone who holds the garment can see its making, its materials, its care and its garment history: when it was finished, when it was claimed, when it was cared for, when it changed hands. They see you only as you have chosen to appear. Your private moments are only ever yours.
